Thank-you!
I feel so bad I haven't brought this to your attention. KIRK made this wonderful banner I have up right now (i didn't steal it, he knowz i gotz it!) but I tried to learn to do that "linky dinky thingy" and still haven't found any directions. He has other cool banners, also. Thanks again Kirk!
Comments
Let's use my blog as an example. You're writing a comment somewhere and you want to link my blog. You would go to whatever page on my blob you want to link. Go to the URL address at the top of that page and copy it.
Then you go to your comment box, where you're writing the message, and write to where you want to link my blob. Go up to the CHAIN LINK icon and click it. A little window pops up, asking you for the URL you just copied. Paste it in there and hit return or click OK. Another little window pops up. It asks you what word or words you want to use to send people to my page. It could be any word or words you want--jaypo, buz, that poopie butt or whatever. Type that word or words in there. Hit return or OK.
Now that word appears in blue as a link. Make sure the cursor is at the very end so you don't type over it thereby deleting it. You'll have to do it all over if you do. Then finish your message.
When you save it, you'll see the word underlined in your comment and a different color, just like a link on a web page--which it is!
Same thing for writing a post.
Hope this helps!
memmamimminit...im be tryin! :)
You'll get it, Car!
In the meantime, I'll just sit and admire your banner! I noticed it before, I just didn't know Kirk made it!! It's TERRIFIC!!
I may try this too.
C -- maybe it's the rum, but I never figured this out either.
Oh, and I love this banner.
let me know when you get it. I think i might have a mental block on the puter---too early to blame it entirely on the rum.
I'm also thinking about making up some different Profile Avatars for people to use that are funny variations on the VOX-head. What do you guys think?
1. Write your post.
2. Use your mouse to highlight the word(s) you want to have link somewhere.
3. With the word(s) highlighted, click the little links icon (fourth one on comments box; looks like three chain links) -- a dialog box pops up.
4. Enter the URL of the page you wish to link to into the dialog box and click OK.
5. Voila! Your text now links to the desired page.
Let me know if anything isn't clear and I'll do another version with pictures. :)
Thanks! Let me try that way, too.
And you mos def should do play arounds on the Vox non-face.
